McGowan expands his skills and animals benefit

A number of people claim to talk to animals, and in the film ‘The horse whisperer’ Robert Redford communicated with horses.
While Moray Hypnotherapist Robert McGowan does not claim to be either of these he is making his mark within the animal kingdom using a combination of Hypnotherapy and the ancient healing art of Reiki.
Robert has been a successful Consultant Hypnotherapist and Reiki practitioner for many years and built up a substantial human client base. His latest venture is already having remarkable results with four legged clients.
Mr. McGowan, who lives in the North East of Scotland, operates a fully mobile service throughout Scotland and beyond. Demands for his unique service within the equine world treating both horse and, if needed, the owners/riders, are becoming increasingly popular.
Mr. McGowan said, ‘many domestic animals such as dogs, cats and horses can benefit from this service, calming, relaxing and reducing the stress of an animal suffering from pain or the stress after injury’.
His main motivation for branching out into animal therapy was his love for animals and his own background of having ridden and owned horses for much of his life, Mr. McGowan said, ‘from a very early age I realised that through close observation of any animal a great deal can be learned about their behavior and reactions to situations’.
‘When treating them it’s just a case of tuning in, listening and observing what they are saying to you’. Many animals displaying behavioral problems can be helped in this way. ‘This often, during treatment, shows up a physical problem. Once this has been tackled, the behavioral problem very often fades and disappears of its own accord’.
Mr. McGowan does not claim to have any medical background, and would never advocate anyone calling him out before a vet.
However, animals can experience psychological problems similar to humans, and that is where he believes he can help.
